A healthy lifestyle in the old time Romanian village – PRESS RELEASE

Did our grandparents and great grandparents have a healthier lifestyle than we do? Yes, some of us could answer, because their food was natural, free of additives; yes, because exercising was part of their life, while for us it is usually limited to a few hours spent in the gym; yes, because they chatted face-to-face and not by the means of Internet.

Considering these examples, more than 300 people from Europe, Asia, North America and Africa have shown interest to discover a healthier lifestyle through the Romanian traditional culture. Ten of them will have this opportunity, during the workshop "Discover a healthy lifestyle through Romanian traditions." This workshop will take place in Sibiu, from 1 to 8 July 2013; it is organized by the "Sibiul Azi” Association, with funding from European Commission through The Lifelong Learning Programme and The National Agency for Community Programmes in the Field of Education and Training.

The workshop officially opens on
Monday, July 30 2013, and for seven days, ten foreigners and two Romanians will analyze the concept of healthy life from three perspectives: food / eating habits, communication and social customs. Thus they will speak about social gatherings, the Sunday traditional dance, about the mutual aid during summer field works, about food produced in the household, etc. Also, the Romanian contemporary village will be discovered during in-situ visits and meetings with craftsmen.
